  • Greatest conductor of the 20th Century. No Karajan, Bernstein or C. Kleiber came close to that!

Also Karajan (9th of Beethoven 1947), Bernstein (sevral great recordings) and Carlos Kleiber (4th of Beethoven) did remarkable recordings. As well as Karl Böhm (best at W. A. Mozart)!

When I first heard a Furtwängler interpretation I was moved by the music. A magic musical experience!

  • This is a wonderful tempo, very energetic and alive, carries you right along.
