  • @Dimefan91 just had the same conversation with another on the same song, claiming it to be a civil war uniform. couldnt explain first its not american soldiers and second not even the right dates for the american civil war.

  • Very clearly about the Crimean War, specifically the Battle of Balaclava, more specifically about the Charge of the Light Brigade. Those lines Dickinson quotes before the song are from Tennyson's poem.
