Nick is alot happier with Phyllis... he's always smiling with her and laughing and just having a great time. sometimes people stay with people out of responsibility and because they are comfortable with them because they have been with them for so long and i think that and the guilt over cheating on Sharon was why Nick was going to stay with her.

He truely loves Sharon. Nick just enjoys screwing Phyliss and escaping out of reality with her so he may SEEM happier but it's not his true self or true love. Sharon is where his heart is sorry Phyliss fans. The mistresses always think they are the answer to a married man's problems but the truth does eventually come out....Nick ended up regreting his affair with Phyliss but glad to have Summer....

Despite their chemistry and some sweet moments in their adulterous begginings it is a pretty slimy way to start an epic love story - child dies, man is cold and angry to his wife, man has affair with another woman, man leaves wife to have new child with other woman - nice. Why does Sharon even want him back? I'm all for giving her a new storyline apart from him.

The shoe is on the other foot now! At least Sharon was woman enough to confront Nick about his feelings. Phyllis just wants to act like Nick kissing Sharon never happened. As long as Phick has been married Sharon has always been the first wife and Phyllis the second.
