  • they may never understand feel

but for those of us that do

    joy

  • Does this song really sample someone vomiting? Oh man, that's gross.

  • @dghhkjfsdfgkja You're not "attempting" to come up with an explanation, you did it and very well btw (although it was unnecessary and uncalled for). But taste doesn't need explanation, you didn't like, ok awesome, dont bash it. The other guys replied with a whole text? Ignore. You people need to stop polluting comment section. PS: not trying to start and arguement over here, read the comment above with a friendly and pleasant, almost mother-like, little voice in your head :)

  • This song makes me feel so many things and makes me feel pure. Glad it was created.

  • @alliant i dunno about 'disguise', but i am certainly attempting to come up with an explanation as to why i can't enjoy this and provide an approach that i think would be more successful.

  • @dghhkjfsdfgkja

wow, strange factoid there friend, since I've found numerous examples of beautiful melodic/harmonic combinations in their music. you come off as a music snob, and desperately grasping for theoretical argument as a disguise for your basic inability to enjoy the music.

  • @mutepg58 just to clarify...because you misunderstood what i said rather completely...i'm not suggesting that the animal collective get a better producer. i'm suggesting that the animal collective start producing other acts made up of more talented/educated musicians.

  • @mutepg58 eno's role was to come up with ideas, not to actualize them. this was constant from his work with roxy music right up until the 90s. even his solo records are primarily performed by somebody else under his direction. what i meant to say is that the members of the animal collective, like eno, are not very good musicians. they don't seem to understand music theory well or at all. they would likely get their ideas across more effectively if they work to work with actual musicians.

  • @mutepg58 the animal collective and related artists are, in general, unable to produce anything resembling a memorable melodic/harmonic combination. the music leaves you as soon as it comes to you, running by you like some kind of abstract particle. but, it's not an issue of accessibility. there have been dozens of artists over the last few decades that have produced much more abstract music than this that have been able to channel the abstraction into something memorable. it's just bad music.

  • @dghhkjfsdfgkja you really have no idea what you are talking about. 1 what bad execution. 2 this is not lo-fi it's psych/shoegaze in the VU/Spacemen3 vein. 3 Eno never goes to someone else for execution, he's the one others goto. 4 They DID goto someone, and his name is Peter Kember aka Sonic Boom. 5 the reason it was "able to amass so much potential" is every bit as much because of Peter as it was Noah Lennox. I say these things as someone who does not like the Animal Collective. Lesson Over.
