Blog 1 - The Lone Filmmaker

My girlfriend and I have just got together and now I am making a feature film entirely on my own, from acting to best-boy, and this is the first time you will be able to witness the struggles and set backs, highs and lows of one man fighting to make a feature film entirely on his own!

I am a filmmaker and so this is my passion, but this project will require me to leave home and venture out into the wilderness.

My girlfriend has agreed to film the whole process - and this is the beginning.... Blog one.

My girlfriend is NOT helping me make the film by filming me. She is filming these video blogs - if she was, then I wouldn't be making a feature film entirely on my own. :-)

I don't think Rob (The Lone Film Maker) has made any promises of deferred payments to anyone. If you listen to what he says he is doing everything himself - even the acting. That's unique, inventive and incredibly brave. If you make the effort to follow the blog you'll see it has immense value and, even if the movie he makes never sees the light of day, I for one am glad he did it and have been more inspired by what he's achieved than by anyone else I've met in the industry.

In the end the results will be the same. Perhaps the FILM itself will be good or Bad. that will be decided when the time comes. But What I am referring too is his ~process~ of film making IS and HAS hurt the industry. MORE people ~I~ know complain everyday about Films makers like these.. Thinking they can ~deffer ~ payment or ~promise~ points , but in the end. Its all a Lie and the only people who loose are those that believe in folks that make empty promises.. I'm Done.. Later

@domokenji He never said he was just "shooting randomly". As far as I know, he's got a plan. Why don't you wait to see the final film, THEN cast judgment on his film?

again,,, Those are 1 in 6 MILLION of a chance.. and NO.. those films were not people just shooting randomly..

Every single one of them had a plan and made efforts to achieve the goals. ON LOW BUDGET yes.. successful.. without a doubt, COMPLETELY hurt the film industry, more than you'll ever know. That's my opinion. I'm ~ ALL ~ for INDIE films.. but GOOD ones that take effort and care to maintain a positive standard..

@domokenji Actually, people CAN just go out and film. Robert Rodriguez did it...the guys who made The Blair Witch did it, and also the people who made Paranormal Activity. If everyone subscribed to your line of thinking, some of the best independent films never would have been made.

@antonioalvez He said he's MAKING the film by himself. He didn't say he's MARKETING the film by himself. There's a big difference. Of course, there will be other people involved in getting the film into theaters. It's impossible to do that without the help of others.

@LeonMyTube no she was filming him filming the film. she only did the youtube blogs, but they're broken up now anyway so he has to do that too, i hope he still get's it done one day it's been a few years now.
