MaddenBuffs.com presents you with the first of many free Madden 10 strategy videos. This is a nano blitz, or a blitz that gets to the QB so fast it's a sack within a "nano" second. Clever eh? It is out of the Nickel 1-5-5 formation, which can be found in Multiple D and NYJ playbooks, as well as others.

Here are the steps to getting instant pressure with 4 rushers and keeping 7 back in coverage to cover the pass - if they can get the ball off!

1)Position your LOLB over the Right Gaurd and close to the Center. Put him on the line like a linemen.

2)Position your MLB over the DT's right shoulder. Don't get him to close to the line.

3)Defensive hot route him to a blitz. To do this, select him, press A (X on PS3) and then right stick down.

4)Position your ROLB over the Left Gaurd and close to the Center. Put him on the line just like your LOLB.

5)User the Safety and cover the short middle of the field!

This is just one of our Nano blitzes, all of which will be free. Stay tuned and visit MaddenBuffs.com for more! Stay tuned, and subscribe for exclusive tips, tutorials, guides, and schemes!

  • Nice to hear. This was more or less a "test" video guide. Be expecting some more blitzes soon. And as always check the site often.

  • You don't even have to do all of that, just move your MLB slightly left, it's faster and pretty much the same results as long as The other MLB don't move to far out but that can be fix. Now you are at 1 or 2 steps instead of 4.

  • Yes, that will work sometimes. But doing all of the adjustments shown in this video will pretty much gaurantee you a sack. If the opponent shifts there line, or brings a runningback in to block, it will usually be shut down if you don't do all of the adjustments.

  • that takes forfuckinever to set up...nice blitz but its trash..experienced players will see u settin it up and quicksnap on it

  • Practice setting it up and you can set it up before they even reach the line. This was just a little preview of whats to come though. This is no where near the best.

But if you wanna be great on defense your gonna have to learn to set these up fast. If you want I'll make a video of an online game and show you how fast I get it set up.

  • Nano blitzing can be stopped with a WR screen, dump off in the flat to the RB, RB screen, QB rollout, quick pass to a TE drag, and any other kind of WR drag. Usually just pinching the line and moving your QB behind the RB blocking gives more time to set up a deep ball the primary receiver. Most nano blitz scemes only have two safeties deep leaving some holes. It is not the ultimate super defense that everyone makes it seem.

  • @LT313beats Like I said, you can adjust your offensive line in Madden... Don't like A-gap blitzes? Okay.. Slide protect down.

  • @columbinekid13 You can always manually cover or hot route the guys into purple zones. I think the 4-6, Baltimore and Chicago books have zone D's in 4-6 that cover purple routes, but I like to have 1 MLB in a hook (yellow) and the extra DB's in purples to prevent things like this. I know this is an old comment but the same concept applies in 11 as it does in 10, especially after the QB Spy glitch got patched. Nanos suck though, they get beat so easy.

  • @crazysav69 Yep, even in 11 people try blitzes like this and it's only good to throw out every once in a while. If your opponent is being lame with it, just go to shotgun split backs and put the slot receiver on a drag, send him in motion and snap it. When people try to nano blitz, if you have both backs running to the flats and the slot guy running the drag, one of the three is GUARANTEED to be open. Nanos are for suckers. A solid man/zone mix like Cover 1 out of 3-3-5 works better than this.

  • @crazysav69 yeah but you better have the o line from hell because youre still going to have no time to develop your plays, and if you make just 1 poor decision in the very little time you have it will be a turnover, the QB will fuck up eventually.

  • nano=noob

  • how you guys can look yourself in the mirror after running this AI cheesing unrealistic defense is beyond me. Yea, I will run it, ONLY and I mean ONLY if you do it to me first. This is crap, how good are you stopping people without this defense? can you stop anybody without abusing the AI by shaking your LB'S? Do you have to have your gay little unrealistic nanos? PATHETIC

  • Bum...2 controllers, really? Bum you nanos anyway.

  • Nanos are like the only real effective way to blitz and I love the video because this is one of my fav plays

  • @IIDivineShadowII L2 slide protect

  • for those whining about nano blitzing being cheating, consider this. In a real life game the whole concept of blitzing is to send in pressure from a point untouched to the QB. this is what is happening in almost every blitz anyway but your AI just gets lost in the sauce if you dont set them up right. Any one wondering HOW TO BEAT 1 5 5 zone cover? Hot route your farthest WR to an outside slant along the sidelines, snap the ball and throw, 1 5 5 has no plays to cover the side line in zone cover
