It`s actually a metaphor of the creation of the Atomic Bomb. The "princess" is the atomic bomb, and tim is trying to get it. At the end, Tim finds out he made a mistake. Someone else took the "princess". It`s also a metaphor on human relations.

The point of this game was not the gameplay at all. It's the subtle symbolism you should pay attention to. I personally loved the game. Everything could be interpreted two ways and abided by subjective time rather than chronology. It's one of the few games I enjoyed to replay so as to play it having the full picture.

The enemies are even named after Super Mario. I did not like this game, I thought it was stupid with no motivation and lazy story telling, and after finding out a star "collectible" needs almost ONE ENTIRE HOUR of DOING NOTHING to find, I uninstalled it and won't ever go back.

Of course, I may be biased. Reversing time was kind of cool though.

ehhh no! I like super mario very much.. but this game is a way more a puzzle game than just platforming. There's a lot of platforming actually, but always linked with the puzzles, transcendental and chaotic ones! If u enjoy using your brain, play this game. If not, better just be on mario.

The way this is phrased is pure genius. "Then what would you be?" I think is a subtle nod to the big reveal at the end of the game.
