The song was written and original performed by Andy Prieboy of Wall of Voodoo. It was indeed written about a girl that was dying due to complications from AIDS. Concrete Blonde then recorded it, and Johnette and Andy have performed it together as well. People - do a little research before posting "facts."

@Isaiah538 where's the contradiction? If god is all powerful then allowing himself to suffer at the hands of mortals is, at best, masochism, then offering to forgive and "save" us (from his own wrath)...he cooked up the scheme from start to finish. Entrapment anyone?
