Could almost mistake Schmidt for Perlman's son; they not only have a somewhat similar look, they have very similar styles of performance.

high and intense lyrism characterizes this second slow movement of Barber's violin concerto, composed in 1940, and premiered on february 7th,1941, romantic in the innermost essence, it has a melancholic yet attractive melody

this piece isn't the same without the oboe. (ie. piano accompaniment)
