I think the reason a lot of people like Abyss the best is because in games like Symphonia and Vesperia the main characters are already fully developed. They already have a strong set of morals and they don't let anything obstruct their paths to justice, while Luke is spoiled, whiny, and selfish and then transforms into an actual hero whom looks out for others. He was flawed at the beginning which a lot more people can relate to and then his transformation gives others hope

It's luke, Asch's sword is in a different spot it isn't necessarily Asch's body either, apparently some time has passed if you listen to the dialogue before he walks up.

@Sardrellas Will it actually work? I think namco is waiting for the results of tales of abyss 3ds sales as well as tales of graces f sales.

@Zeldarulah And yes, Asch is a dick. Though I can understand why he is like that, his character did not develop much while Luke had about 4 to 5 character development phases throughout the story, making more sense that he's the one to be back anyway (especially since he's the main character of a Tales game, which generally has very happy endings).

@Zeldarulah So in other words: It's Luke. Whether it's Asch's body or not, it's still Luke since it's his memories. That's what I mean by exceeding Jade's expectations: although the contamination effect did take place, it wasn't the original per say that "revived", but the replica this time.

@ChCa As much as I wish it were Luke--Asch is such a dick! xD

@ChCa I don't think so: In the first part of the ending (pre-credits), you see Luke dissolving, and then you see Asch's hand twitch, meaning he's the body that lives, and it also follows the perfect-isofon contamination effect pattern of replica -> original. So, I think, Asch lives, but has Luke's memories, and as a result acts more like Luke (hence why he goes after Tear, and why Jade smirks.)
