Here it is. The all-new 2007 Kawasaki ZX-6R. It's hard-core, high-revving, take-no-prisoners... A real headbanger. Turns fast and light, hates being off the power and demands respect off every crest. See, I didn't even mention the lack of steering damper!

This footage is onboard with Akira Yanagawa (WSB hero of the last decade, Kawasaki man and current JSB front-runner). The fat bloke in black leathers is me.

For the full review of this bike check out the February issue of PB, on sale this Christmas!

  • SO what kind of tires do we have on those bikes...

  • BT002 race compounds. Over the counter trackday tyres basically!

  • Hey, aren't you the Euro Cannonball guy?

  • Fat, hairy, black leathers... oh yeah, that's me!

  • haha did you guys get in trouble for that little stunt?

  • Not at all! It was all good fun, Akira is a superstar

  • damn.. i need to ride my 07' zx6r like that... raw

  • 柳川さん間違いなし。

  • basically, what im saying is that... all "supersports" in the inline 4 600cc range are "more suited for the track" but people ride them on the street all the time. if you're looking for something torque-ier, grab a triumph 675 has a pretty punchy triple or consider a v-twin like a ninja 650 or an sv.

  • the powerband on ANY 600cc sport bike that's an inline 4 is really high in the powerband. besides, you wouldn't want to be in the powerband in city streets anyways... it's gotten me entirely too many speeding tickets. lol xD

  • R6 would be the worst for street riding the powerband is so high up in the rpms.... R6 is more suited for the track

  • r6s are fine for city riding. i hate the look of the 09s but the zx6 is a great machine, if your considering it, just grab one.

  • it is the puck... i've leaned mine over quite a bit and never managed to scrape the footpeg, it is actually decently high up on this bike
