NO. Joseph Smith said he saw Jesus.
That's all you know.
You misunderstand 'cornerstone'.
In the Christian faith, John is not a cornerstone. His gospel could be entirely removed and the truth of Jesus would remain. Same for any individual in the Bible except one: Jesus.
In Mormonism, the cornerstone is Smith. Without him you have nothing whatsoever.
It is most certainly NOT the same as the primitive church at all. Stop trying to shoehorn Mormonism into history, it doesn't fit.

52 down-voters are kidding themselves.

@thesignsoflife7 True that. Very well said.

@theminimumdog I invite you readers out there to consider this: Notice how TMD says "this definition is correct" & points to one created to ensure the Church fits into its darkness. That's much like playing poker with your hands tied behind your back & your opponent deals; plays his cards & yours; places your bets; wins; grabs the pot; & runs out the door gloating & boasting in the pride of his spoils, pointing backward exclaiming, "He really shouldn't play poker; he's not very good at it"

@theminimumdog Like I said, you won't find her definition of cult in Google dictionaries or in Webster. It appears to me that these "theologians" went at it backwards to insure that the definition they create will fit the word So, they have apparently located the beliefs to which they disagree, wrapped them up all nice and neat, and then they decided to put the word "Cult" in front of it. And then to top it all off...TMD adds "a cult of Christianity." Sounds just a bit TOO convenient.

Yeh. I've posted a 30-45min video exposing Mormon Church Cult and there are many negative comments from Mormons who say its not true - even though the mormon scriptures declare and even a video footage was shown of the Mormon Temple in Utah. Even exposing the lie that God The Father had many wives and babies, and that Lucifer was Jesus' brother - the planet Kolab and so on. Yet in the face of truth they are all in denial with cusses and swearing. Same with muslims when I quote the Surah's.

Instead of sitting there finding fault with another Christian's beleif, how about joining them in the knowledge that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Reedemer? I have friends who are of other Christian faiths and instead of argueing who is right and wrong, we share with eachother our knowledge and testimony of Christ and rejoice together in Him. Is this what Christ was talking about when He taught in the Bible to love our fellowmen?

Wow, I find it hard to believe her story. Young children sing of Jesus all the time, grace is understood, the Bible is studied, there is a hell, coke is not prohibited, so I'm not sure which church she was attending.
-
I'm happy for her!
marcopolo8765:
THE TRUTH brings people out of Mormonism.
The fact that you cannot understand how someone could ever find fault with your perfect church is proof in and of itself that you have never tested the veracity of the Mormon church.
In effect what you are saying is that the church Jesus founded failed, but the church Joseph Smith founded has no possibility of being untrue.
Come to Jesus. Not Joseph Smith.

Interesting...Google - "define:cult", & you will not find her definition. (A cult, generally, is a form of religion, worship or belief toward a person, idea, movement or work.) Sounds like early christianity to me. She states (or creates) a definition that "fits" LDS beliefs, tailors it to be bad, then accuses Mormonism of being a cult. I like this definition from the internet: "A cult is a church down the street from your church." Anon In other words, she doesn't agree, ergo "they" are bad.
