Cripple Kitten - Updates 28November2007

Day 2
Some skin has turned black around the wound area, those were the dead cells according to the vet. No sedate injection or medicine was given to Alera when the cleaning process as it might create a side effects and risk on Alera. Alera is a very brave kitty and was well behave throughout the whole process.

That Alera is the sweetest, bravest kitty I have ever seen! I wonder if maybe he had no feeling in that leg, because my God, you can see the bone, that would have to hurt! Please give Alera a soft kiss from me. You are so good to him, Thomas.

What I mean by a cart is something strapped around their waist that has wheels connected to it. Something like a rickshaw!

Poor little Alera!! I think that leg must not have any feeling in it? I hope not. :-( There is another kitty on YouTube named "Forrest" who has legs like Alera and he has no feeling or nerve impulses in the legs. Get well fast, dear little Alera. We all love you SO MUCH!

Rosy, the leg does have feeling though. Yeah hopefully he will heal faster and I think he will. Just have to monitor very carefully next time.

The wound looks horrible...you might need to amputate the leg if it doesn't get any better and continues to die. Poor Alera...Most people give up on cats that go to the vet often as this, but you pull it all together and calmly go through this. Keep up the good work! I hope things level off soon so he can live a healthy life without vet visits :3 *continues to watch*

I cannot tell you how many times I have watched the videos of Alera. You have given me the courage to carry on and take care of my disabled kitty, Sasha for almost 2 years.

Alera may no longer be with us in body, but he will live on forever in our hearts and minds.

poor thing is that bone? omg just amputate its legs! poor thing, its legs are obviously useless and hes causing himself harm by chewing so its logical and humane to just get rid of his legs.
