This is a better version than the version with 12 channel, because you get a faster reaction-time, but i think there is to much purple. It seems to be, that orange and so on will always be interpret as purple. So you calculate the mixed-color or the dominantest color?
Can I aks you, which controller you use? I'll write a Bachelor-work and therefor I'll create my own DIY-Ambilight with 48 channel. My idea is it to combine the TVP7002 with a CPLD and some TLC5940.

As I said in the video description, the colors were not calibrated when I made this video. Check out my newest videos to see it calibrated.
Colors are calculated by getting the average the reds, the greens and the blues of the pixels.
For now I use a PIC32 microcontroler to link my WS2801 RGB neons and my computer through USB.
I started thinking of something which would be able to run without a computer, a TVP7002 and a CPLD seems to be a good start.

@EveMcWinston I also would advise you to find some digital RGB neons (based on WS2801 for example, aliexpress is selling some) it would avoid you to use some TLC5940 and generate many PWM yourself.
