That would be Greg Leisz playing steel on 'Wheels.' First heard him thru P Case's LP's and then he started popping up everywhere. I agree, Leisz' playing is great. He was able to bring in those Eastern scales that Case favors, and the blend with the violin on 'Let Me Fall' was nice, too.
I have always liked Peter's voice. In addition, his lap steel playing is really amazing. Does anyone here remember the song "Spell of Wheels" from Full Service No Waiting? Maybe the coolest steel tone in history, seriously.

YES! YES! YES! Peter Case is one of my top
two songwriters. (Guy Clark is the other).
I first saw Peter around 1987. It was awe inspiring. My wife and I saw him last year.
We were front row. We shouted out several
requests during the show and I believe he played every one! He has been part of the sound track of our 18 years of marriage.
