[Ch. 46, Pt. 2: Clearing Things Up]
-Dolly's POV-
I wasn't sitting by Joe, so I didn't get his full reaction. But, um, I just have a couple of questions that I need to be clear about. I felt a buzz in my pocket. I looked at the screen and saw that it was a text from Joe. It read, "Apparently, we need to talk. Out back?"
I looked up at him and nodded. He stood up and picked up his plate.
"Can we be excused?" he asked.
We got the okay and he led me out back. He turned to me and sighed.
"Well, first, I'm sorry you had to find out this way. But I can honestly say that this totally slipped my mind. Um, Taylor, has been a friend of ours for years. We've known her for a while. She and I started hanging out a little more, and then it got more serious as time went on. So, we made things official and then we started dating for about two months. Things didnt work out. It didn't settle well with the family, and she ended up not being exactly the best girl on the block. So, I ended everything about a month and a half ago and she took it pretty badly. So now, we don't really talk to her anymore. She's just...bad news. But I really am sorry that I didnt tell you earlier. I totally forgot."
He looked at me with sincere eyes. I knew he was telling the truth. I just didn't know what to say.
"Are you mad at me? Say something," he said.
"I'm...fine. I just, don't know what to say. I trust you, Joe. Always know that. I'm not mad."
"Good. Gosh, well, I guess you know now that Frankie is very...inquisitive. Sorry about that. On behalf of all of us."
I laughed. "It's okay. Frankie's the man."
Joe look out and smiled. "Do you remember the last time we were out here?"
I scoffed. "How could I forget? I put makeup on you, and you pay me back by pushing me in the pool."
"Hey, you pulled me in with you. So that means...you got me double. Dolly, you got me double! I only got you once!"
I backed up. "Joe."
He came towards me. "C'mon, you don't even know what I'm gonna do."
"I don't care. Stay away from me, Joseph."
I turned to run but then I felt two strong arms wrap around my waist, and then Joe picked me up bridal style and sat me on his lap on the bench.
"I'll just cuddle for now. I'll get you later."
We sat there for a while, but it got chilly pretty quick and we decided to go inside. We ran into Nick.
"Oh! I was just about to tell you two that the girls were leaving."
"Okey dokey."
I said goodnight and goodbye (pun intended) to the boys and hopped into the car. Sarah and Rachel started drowning me with questions.
"Who's Taylor?"
"Is he cheating on you?"
"Is she a bad girl?"
"Where is she?"
"Do we need to beat her up?"
"We can find her house."
"How does Joe know her?"
"Guys! Wait!" I said. "Taylor, as in Taylor Swift, is Joe's ex. That's all."
"Oh," Sarah said. "Okay."
We got back to the hotel and went to bed fairly quickly.

-Kevin's POV-
The next week was a bit of a blur. We spent a day with the girls, and then we had to leave for two days to hit the east coast for a performance and photoshoot. We were only gone for two days, but I realized how much I truly missed Rachel. Joe and Dolly were either talking on the phone or texting the whole time, and Nick and Sarah Skyped a bit. Me and Rachel...we texted, emailed, talked, chatted, and did everything else to keep in touch with each other. I wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend. So, after gaining approval from my parents, I decided to plan the perfect night for just me and her. I called her phone that morning.
"Hello?" she said sleepily.
"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"
"Yeah, you did. But it's okay. What's up?"
"Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go somewhere special tonight."
"Really? What time?"
"What about...seven?"
"Okay. I will be ready to go."
"Awesome, I"ll see you then."
Perfect. Now, I just had to plan everything.
