Here is some testing of the kicker we made for our 2006 robot, done in Fall 2005 (before the 2006 robot was designed). After testing the speed, we decided to have some fun and kick it at various objects. The kickers are solenoids which are supplied by large capacitors charged to 200 volts.

  • Anywhere i can find a tutorial to learn how to make this? Please?

  • it's two separate mechanisms, one on top of the other, the chip kicker is the small wedge seen best around 0:27 and the straight kicker is over top of it

  • Hey, anyone knows how they managed to lift the ball up and kick the ball straight on the floor using the same mechanism?

  • Are the two cable chords (one of em falls down at the end of the video) connected to the kicker´s solenoid?

  • 2050 is going to be a safety hazard for humans.
