No one will ever know how it feels to go thru something like this until you and your family goes thru this. I lived in Picher, Oklahoma and I lived thru this and I will tell you something, This is a town that was struck with alot of problems but we are a town the will live on in all of our hearts. WE ALL LOVED LIVING IN THIS TOWN.
Why did you move there? That area is a toxic mess. hundreds of Thousands of tons of lead laced mine tailings, ground that could collapse any second from mine cave-ins, an orange river from the toxic heavy metals.... The government paid people to move away from Picher, it is deemed the most toxic area in the US. Children have lead poisoning. microscopic lead dust blows through every nook and cranny of this ghost town.
tornadoes and other events would not take lives if we would be smart and be prepared.
you must like gambling,good luck.
and if you live in a wood house you live in disposable piece of junk that you never know if it will be there when you come home,or what to do in a fire or tornado.
the problem is that all the people you know are as dumb as you and for reasons that should make no sense to anyone intelligent do not protect themselves and their families and live in disposable pieces of junk....
dude you must not live in the midwest- wind of all things, are you kidding me- wind can do lots of damage. Tornado Proof? that the dumbest thing I have ever heard
why you people keep putting your lives and those of your family in danger and at the same time wasting so much money building a house that the wind of all things can blow away.
it's so easy to build a house to be TORNADO PROOF and it doesn't cost much more than the wood junk most build...do you guys don't care ?do you stole the money to build them or did the insurance policy made you feel good about it?... work all your life for what ? what about your family ,are they worth to protect????????
Preliminary reports placed it at an EF-3, but a few days later, that was updated to EF-4. Seems like the NWS has been pretty cautious on giving out EF-4 ratings lately for some reason. Several tornadoes that have left damage that looked to be well into the EF-4 category have been rated as EF-3's.

I'm glad I moved before the tornado came through. Then we invested in a storm cellar when we moved in...
