James Drury interview on Ireland AM Breakfast Show - July 29, 2008 Jim was overwhelmed by the kindness of everyone. Hundreds of fans waited in line for hours to meet him on Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 2-3)...without complaint and they said they would do it again in a heartbeat.
Clip contributed by Janet Carlile of Cork, Ireland.
@oldyuma Although Jim Drury is listed in some Maverick casts, I'm pretty sure he wasn't in it. I think some people mistook Robert Fuller for him. John Ireland wasn't in The Virginian as a regular, but was a guest star in the final season under the name The Men From Shiloh, the third episode called "Jenny". I think he did replace Lorne Green in a Bonanza movie. My friend Helen set up this interview with TV3 and is mentioned at the end of another video of this and seen in others of the visit here.
I feel like "The Virginian " was an older brother. He was part of my whole teenage years and the show was cancelled just as I reached my 20's. Priceless memories. High quality tv at it's best.
When i am 13 years ago, i look at my TV , image is black and white but when there is "the virginian", I am so glad to see this western..My regret is , in France, we cann't to watch it.
I grew up on The Virginian on RTE in the early 60's, all the way thru The Men from Shiloh. Loved it then, love it now, and re-watching on Westerns Channel now!!
Just finished watching the Virginian. Two times in a role. Reminding me of the good TV programs I watched as a kid. I am 53. It is a shame TV isn't this nice anymore.
I wonder what bar in Houston. Griff's maybe.

@DannyMc71 sorry about the job loss. Great old shows of real America. How did we stray so far to loss sight of our values.
