"Mr. Lonely" Parody - Barry Wade - (Parody of Bobby Vinton)

I had lots of fun making this parody. If you listen to the original song, done by Bobby Vinton, you can hear that he is sniffling and crying while singing it. He has even been criticised by critics because of it. I am making a parody of it by exaggerating the crying, just to have some fun with the song.

The choreography was my own, but my 18-year old son helped me with it. He came to visit me yesterday, while I was watching my most recent take and trying to figure out what was wrong with it, so he watched too. Then he said, "Hey, Dad, I don't know what's wrong with the singing, but you forgot some important choreography. Then he took me to my storage room where I had an old mailbox stored, and he said, "You forgot this! No letters in the mailbox! You showed them the cell phone! Show them the empty mailbox, too, Dad!"

Then, today, I listened to Bobby V sing it again (here on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbT5W4O0tZY) and I heard something he was doing that I wasn't doing: He was sighing and whining. I recorded it again, but with crying instead, and did it in 3 takes, but that was only because I was forgetting my choreography.

I did it with crying because of the nature of the song. It is about a young man who is in the military and he feels all alone because he doesn't have a girlfriend, and now he is somewhere far away from home, so he feels so lonely, he could cry. Bobby Vinton probably just sighed and whined because a lot of guys think it is sissy to cry, but I don't mind doing the acting if it enhances the meaning of the song.

If you think this is funny, you'll really be laughing when you hear that. I even had a false start. I began singing it to the tune of "Rose of San Antone" but I didn't stop, because I was going to purposely screw up the song anyway, just for laughs. I wrote why I did it in its description.
