My brother is a neurosurgeon and my cousin is a microbiologist, what they had to say about sepsis is that it is a serious condition where the bloodstream is overwhelmed by bacteria (a blood infection) caused by a bacterial infection that can begin anywhere in the body (usually the bowel, lining of the brain, kidney, a UTI, lungs, liver or gall bladder, or the skin). you will immediately be admitted to a hospital, usually the ICU. Sepsis is often fatal (within months). hope this was helpful
