this is stupid, i got my iphone stolen while in vegas, THEN i was told there was this mobileme thing that can track it, so bought another iphone 3gs today and wanted to get the free trial and it says "Apple ID account is valid, but this iPhone is not qualified for free MobileMe service" is it just for the free or this iphone cant have mobile me all together? please awnser.

They stole my iphone4 yesterday... how can i find its location? i have the IMEI number but they mightve changed it.. and no i hadnt downloaded mobileme before :(

@sharkfriend Its so obvious that you will try to steal it, but no... that doesn't mean your theft is clean because every phone has IMEI which u can't change (its stored in chips even if you erase software) and cops will find you anyway...

what if I stole an iPhone my self with mobile me... did a factory reset on that iPhone, wich means all the software goes off... that means you cant turn it on untill you put new software on it f.ex 3.0, for $7,99 on iTunes...
would this mean that the theft is clean? that nobody can trace my new iPhone?
I`m not planning on stealing one ofcourse, but I just want to know so I can know more about how safe it is...
