  • it hit a bmw lol

  • Unless you have a lot of practice, the natural impulse in an emergency is to stamp your foot down on the brake. Keep in mind that in an emergency, you're making decisions in the 0 to 2 second timeframe, and anything you haven't repetitively practiced will fly out the window and instinct will take over. At most accident scenes (with or without ABS involvement) there is always skid mark evidence that the driver has stamped down on the brake. ABS is designed to compensate for natural instincts.

  • You can stop faster wihout ABS, i made a video to prove that.

  • @FordsRule351 It is proven for years that in full breaking (no swerving) an ABS car uses much less meters. And then there are other computurized systems to avoid drifting or losing the control on curves etc etc. If you continue to think and act like morons in the US, soon you will be surpassed by the chinese in car making, and that will be the humiliation of the century. Forget about europeans and the japanese and korean who copy them. They are light years ahead.

  • @FordsRule351 Only a stupid american could say such a thing. That is why the US is light years behind europe in car tech (and always will). And that´s why whoever has money in the US buys european. ABS prevents tires from blocking. Doesn´t mean you must change lane. Dumb ass. It will stop in much less meters. Kid! Continue driving your american ugly old fashioned crap!

  • Hey! Have you tried - fast abs magic (just google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my sister got great Six pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

  • @jrivas356 ABS cannot increase the amount of traction between a tire and the road. ABS does not allow you to stop faster, it allows you to maintain control in a panic situation.

Tire slip (dynamic friction) is the enemy of grip, it does not create more grip.

    Threshold braking > ABS activation

  • New driver or not, ABS is good for all persons. The ABS pulses on and off to give the tire more traction during braking. The vehicle will be able stop faster because there is more tire slip, which in terms, creates friction that converts kinetic energy into braking and cornering force.

  • @tudorgui1992 well, my car is a Toyota auris, and i can tell you that auris ABS is not that good.... without ABS, things are better. But I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND anyone to disable ABS on his car.

also, in other cars, ABS may function in a different way! so it's up to the driver to decide

  • @gxz100 well i'm sure nobody would reccomend you to do that, but if you think you can stop more efficient in an emergency situation, be my guest. as far as i am concerned, i will keep my abs enabled :)

  • look, ABS is good for new drivers, but they must be familiar with the Braking system and they must know what to do when ABS is functioning (i mean to steer the wheels in order to avoid the object in the road).

most drivers, expect from the ABS to fully stop the car. NO, ABS is not designed this way....

also, ABS sucks (and it's very dangerous) under snow - mud - sand or any slippery terrain

  • @tudorgui1992 you have to remove 2 or 3 fusses as far i remember..

a friend of mine, who was expert on Toyota car's electronics do that for me.

the only annoying thing is the ABS warning sign that is always on.
