It hadn't occured to me that he pays attention to the audience. I had only heard a few songs of the band's before I attended the Austin show. My apologizes (IF he reads this) for being the audience member whom you felt you were pulling teeth out to get into your music. You write really well and the band's sound is united and beautiful. I hope that they continue to play smaller venues even when they get more popular.

Thanks for making this series of videos Mat. Its always good to hear directly from the artist where his songs originated or were inspired by. I'm lookinng forward to getting your new album, and sure its going to be great. I already love the three songs I've heard. I'd say grammy Caliber, as was your last CD. keep up the Great inspiring work.
