In the sixties, every year, the quiche, from mayan origin, were celebrating the "Fiesta de la Conquista", a ritual to exorcise all the sufferings of the spanish conquest in the sixteenth century. The quiche people living in the Altaverapaz region has suffered "La violencia" in the eighties, during the civil war. The population endured mass deportations in concentrations' camps, killings; in many cases, after the peace signed in 1999, they have found their villages completely destroyed. This short movie pays tribute to somehow disappeared rituals and traditions of the quiche people, the last living mayas.
