Another of my videos supporting the ScoreHero How Good Can You Sound Challenge, found here:

http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11205

100% Gold Star performance on I.V. by X-Japan, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.

As per the rules of the challenge, the original vocals by Toshi are muted, and my microphone is turned up so the only vocals you hear are my own.

I personally think this is the best song out of the 20 free songs that come with Rock Band 2. Unfortunately I don't have the vocal range to sing it in its original octave without heavy use of my (very weak) falsetto, so I opted to drop it down 1 octave.

  • Hey jim sorry for asking(I'm a expert drum player i don't sing as often as i want 2) Whats octave and falsetto?

  • An octave is 1 full scale of notes (do-re-me-fa-so-la-ti, as per the Sound of Music). I'm basically singing the same notes as in the original song, but just lower.

Falsetto is a method that most adult men have of singing which allows singing and speaking at much higher pitches than normal. If you watch my videos for Roxanne or Franklin's Tower, they're done completely in falsetto - much higher notes than I'm reaching here on this video for I.V.

    X FTW!

  • perfect vox

  • ROFLMAO FAIL

  • LOL

  • I keep returning back to your videos, icemage, despite not being fan of a lot of them. But this one here you sing very nicely, shame about the quality of the vid, but I am here to listen to the voice after all, not the video. But I would like there to be more balance between your voice and the insturments from the game, it sounds very "cramped" when the sound is beign ajusted inbetween the parts you sing.

  • This song is easily the best of the 20 and the only one I care for.
