The song was a bobby-soxer hit for Johnny Burnett in 1960. The target audience was aged 13 to 18 more or less. Like "Sixteen Candles" and hundreds of other high-school romance songs, it belongs to music that used to make Don McClean smile with every paper he'd deliver, just sweet innocent dance music meant for singing along and dancing and having a good time. Anyone who thinks Ringo sees it any other way in this cover is seriously disturbed.
