  • Considering that a lot of people fall off motorbikes, is this really a good idea? Imagine, you fall, you damage the tank, the tank starts to leak, the LPG expands to more than 22 times it's liquid volume, then ignites..... BOOM, BBQ'd rider and anyone within 50 metres. Keep LPG for cars people.... a lot safer!!

  • Hey Hello Dogmatix, thank you for raising the concern of many people. Things do not happen in such a simple way. The whole kit is certified safe. The tank has been tested for crash testing, free-fall from 30 ft. with the motorcycle weight falling on it. On all tests the system has come out un-damaged. The tank itself is made of 3mm special anealed steel. The system is safety certified and running on over 40000 motorcycles!!

  • I still do not see how this is a practical solution, a conversion like this, how much does it cost, and how many years would it take to repay the expense? I can see that an LPG conversion on a big engined car makes sense, I own two LPG cars with 3.8 litre V6 engines that burns LPG at 7km per litre, but on a small capacity motorbike, to me it really is trying to squeeze blood from a stone.

  • Different folk's different strokes! There are many people who drive. Converting there motorcycle to LPG is a real boon for them - the cost can be amortized in 6 months. A saving of 1 US$ a day can mean much.

There are countries and places where the basic mode of transport is a tri-cycle or auto-rickshaw or a moto-taxi. Philippines and Peru are a case in point. Owners of these moto-taxis can really increase there earnings and can simultaneously help in reducing pollution in these countries.

Benzine hier is nu ongeveer AUD$1.35, Diesel AUD$1.40..

  • @dogmatix2008, I guess it would be cheaper here in the Netherlands to drive on LPG. Lpg costs around 0.67 euro cent per liter at the moment. And benzine is around 1.55 euro per liter! Where are the times when lpg only costed 0.16 euro cent a liter! That´s only 7 years ago!
