Unlike you, I know 2 people from the USSR and have been to Cuba. You might also want to know that polls have shown most of the people who lived in the soviert union want it back.

I visited Cuba and as an ex British soldier I can say what they don't have in modern kit they make up for in massive moral and fighting spirit. leaving the politics aside I was quiet impressed.
