Gilbert will always be my favorite player EVER because he inspired people to always prove the doubters wrong and believe in yourself. I take that message with me everyday. We miss you buddy, and hoping the best for the rest of your career.

What Gilbert did for the Washington franchise will never be forgotten by the true fans. he took a consistently bad wizards team and made them consistent playoff contenders. He put his heart into the game and always gave back to the fans. Who knows what DC and Gil could've accomplished if not for injuries and a stupid mistake.
