I need help oky friend gave me a vista disk to download to my computer so i downloaded it and ever since my pc is f***ed up it says i need a ethernet controller and i cant download it cuz i cant connect to the internet so i need you help how would i restore back to xp plzz help thanks

when i try to restore to an earlier time i cant go back i can only choose the day that im on even when iv created a restore point the day before??? please help
