But they say we should live by the bible. I can't seem to find a flock to lead. I don't know how to build an ark, and I wouldn't stone my kids if they disobeyed me. Why should we live by that?

@Chuck821000 I wouldn't get too excited because the tradition that Moses wrote the Pentateuch was historically seen as being narrated by Moses to the elders who penned it . . . and so in this way it was said that Moses wrote the Pentateuch as is suggested within the Pentateuch itself in the discourse between Moses and his father-in-law. Therefore, it is entirely consistent. Also, Julius Wellhausen in his day was already KNOWN for his over-emotional attitudes towards God and religion

if all these people come up with THEIR OWN differing interpretations of what this god is or how it works, I suggest we can't believe any of them - especially when this god is claimed to not be understandable

@netpropheting ::: Exactly. What it does do is refute the idea that the bible is the inerrant word of God. The bible describes god as having hatred, jealousy, wrath. That is a false god, not the real one. How many 'major doctrines' are clear cut in the bible? That is why there are so many denominations and theological disagreements. Pre or post trib? Faith alone or faith plus works necessary for salvation? Judas hang himself or burst asunder? Did Judas buy land or give back money?

I've been searching for the truth but I can't seem to find it. Nothing profound ever happened to me where I believe in the bible and the god thereof. i would hate to think that god allows such turmoil for so long. I believe in a creator, what I don't believe is the way this being is being portrayed.
