In part 1 we hear about the early days of Pink Floyd from the band themselves as well as their first manager. Some nice reflections about Syd Barrett as well as that funny clip of Hans Keller dissing the band on Television. Some great insights about recording Piper at the Gates of Dawn followed by some stories of the early days post Syd.

  • @tjrrockandrollmaster They all decided together to just not ''collect'' Syd on way o a gig and that was it. NOT solely Roger sacking him

  • 13:18 "I have a fantasy:I would love, one day, for syd to walk into my room and say ' I'm ready to play in the band' " - Rick Wright.

That's such a beautiful, thoughtful thing for Rick to say. He missed Syd terribly.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 David Gilmour actually stated on Rockline back in 1992 that "if Syd was in a great state of mind (to follow a hypothesis) then he would have been happy to have collaborated with Syd". It was Roger who threw Syd out like he would throw Rick out of the band a decade plus later.

  • @DARRINCONNOR1 Right at the end Richard's dream is for Sid to walk in and say "O.K. I'm ready too play" Only one problem, Mr. Gilmour is not going too allow that.I've heard that statement from Gilmour more than once.Even know there was know likelihood of that ever happening, of course he should be "allowed" back into the band.

  • First of all this is very good.Did you arrange and edit this yourself.Or is this from a D.V.D. Not too much I don't know about Floyd, but still am fascinated by their career.Very Interesting ,can watch "stuff" like this all day, every day.
