Yeah, and when the Clash were on stage, that wasn't really Paul playing either. It was someone else wearing a Paul Simonon prosthetic mask. The London Calling cover? Prosthetic Paul. The real Paul actually only showed up every couple weeks for a photo shoot and spent most of his time at home painting and gardening.
@coolconfuzer A lot of Sandinista was originally done by Norman Watt Roy, but then re-dubbed by Paul, except for Lightning Strikes and Magnificent Seven. Topper only played bass on Rock the Casbah. Watt Roy played on a lot of Cut the Crap, mainly because Paul didn't want to interfere with what Joe (and Bernie) were doing. He re-dubbed some of them later. London Calling, Clash U.K. and Give 'Em Enough Rope was all Paul.
He may not have been the best technical bassist but he wasn't all bad.
@wookiewhat im telling you man...believe me or go look it up. Cut the Crap combat rock half of sandinsta was mick jones and the guy from the blockheads normen watts roy or w.e his name is. Rock the casbah was Topper on bass. mag 7 was watts, hicksville u.k mick...etc etc etc. London Calling might have been paul but ill question that also.
@wookiewhat You're right. Just read that stuff on Wikipedia.
