Quite the contrary! The Louvre as most French museums have translations in at least half a dozen languages, not just English and not just European languages, if you had bothered to notice or to ask, the translations are on large laminated cards at the entrance of each of the major salons. They do this so they won’t need to put huge signs with Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian and yes even English beside the art. Their very reasonably priced audio tours also come in many languages.

@KaterinaB22 I visited when I was youger England and Scotland... never read any french translations ! When I go to a foreign country I try to read the local language and I don't wait they translate anything in French ! Make the same when you go to another country !
