@jehobden - you are right about the timeframe. Jack Benny was supposed to be in 'The Sunshine Boys' with Walter Matthau, but he passed away, and was replaced with George Burns (who came out of retirement for the role; he was the oldest recipient of the Oscar, until Jessica Tandy won for 'Driving Miss Daisy'). I remember seeing 'The Sunshine Boys' in the theater in 1975 during my childhood.

Is that Vivian's last TV appearance?

@trinitymike - Certainly not one of Vance's finest moments; I guess Ethel was nicer than Vivian.

@thowen1988 "In March 1966, a sick and frail 76 year-old William Frawley was walking down Hollywood Boulevard after seeing a movie. He collapsed right on the sidewalk, was dragged into the lobby of the Knickerbocker Hotel, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. While dining in a Hollywood restaurant, Vivian Vance, upon hearing of Frawley's death, announced "Champagne for everyone!""
owch!!!!!!! LOL

@rburton34 - actually, the question should be when was Dean Martin NOT drunk, since it occurred far less frequently.
back when people were really stars, not overpaid, no-talent trash!

This is a classic example of why Vivian Vance is my favorite on 'I Love Lucy'; she was a class act who has been quite underrated.
