  • hi, i subscribed to you a few days ago after looking at some of your videos and i agree in a lot of your views. but i disagree 100 percent on this one..i think people SHOULD work in something they find fun otherwise you gonna be miserable for the rest of your life. is terrible advice you are giving.

  • I think you misunderstood what i meant. People should not do something they dislike. However, I truly believe that peoples goal should be totally financial freedom, work only when and if you want to. People should not look to their job for fulfillment. When you have freedom you can do whatever you want. I believe people should open business and appreciate the ambition and freedom they are earning. I love my job. few people love their job more than me, even though I don't love killing bugs.

  • @FlashVirus It was a relocatable accommodations business. We manufactured portable trailers 12' W x 60' L and reached a capacity of 40 units per month with 160 employees. Unfortunately, the recession of 2008 saw 36 million dollars of orders evaporate and we ended up declaring bankruptcy in 2009. After that I started a duct tape wallet mfg company (ducthide.com) - sold several thousand of those and started a thermal imaging service and a blow in insulation company.

  • @barrywilliamsmb

Can I ask what type of business you started?

  • I operate a profitable small business, as well. I believe you are exactly right on your business strategy... Your opinions mirror mine, in so many ways. I think you will go far.

From reading a variety of negative comments here, it explains a lot about why so many average Joes in in the US will never find financial freedom in their life. It's pretty sad, really.

  • I shore like the way you talk, mister.

Business is my religion and like you, I'm an evangelist. The venture I started 2+ yrs ago produced 12 million revenue & $330K net profit in it's second yr.

However, before enjoying success we lost $125,000 on our first job and things got waay worse after that. I learned a TON!

If you haven't already, you should get a copy of Michael Gerber's book Emyth. I'm using the knowledge I gained from him to build two franchises right now.

    Thanks Aaron.

  • If you had the desire to, I think it would be really cool if you turned this into a series (maybe you already are). I would look forward to it and I don't think I would be alone.

Thanks for sharing your advice and experience.

    All the best,

    Robert

  • Aaron,

It's great to hear that you're acting on this entrepreneurial spirit and that you're becoming successful and getting closer to your financial freedom.

I think these videos on business are really interesting, even if I disagree with some of your points (not saying I do for sure, I don't have much experience with business so I'm not sure) and more than just learning about the practical aspects, they're inspiring.

  • You showed me I was wrong, thx!

Great stuff. Hope to see more.

  • No. I am just not doing that for the money. I might lose money in it, and that is okay.

  • So... when you reach your ultimate goal it'll just sour in short order? Bummer dude.

  • I think my ultimate goal is to build a theater and produce local and professional regional performing arts. Orchestra, choir and theater. I adore the arts. There is just very little money in it considering how many people want to be in it. I also believe that if you make your passion a job than it will often stop being your passion, and turn into a job.
