  • Gorgeous. Thank you. It's ironic these female artist from thisera had to do things like dressing "Turkish" because the contemporary European dress was so restricting. And that so many of these highly talented painters relocated to Russia because the idea of a female artist was more acceptable there. (tho Vigee-LeBrun was able to find a way to work it out in Paris and London) I very lucky and saw the exhibit of much of their works in the "Women in the Arts" show twice in 2003 & it was awesome.
