  • Hello TechZoneLive: Everytime I boot up, my PC says 'CMOS settings not set. Press F!. to set date & time." I'm kinda tired doing this since 2009 after my computer got flooded. BTW, my mboard is an ECS 945-P-A & have never replaced its battery since I bought it & had my PC assembled in Dec. ;05. My PC is now 6 yrs old. Do u think ur tutorial on resetting CMOS will work for me? Or do I need to buy a new battery? Reply ASAP, pls. (1/25/12)

  • @bob5201966 Try using a new battery. If you are following the instructions by hitting F1 and setting your settings, but the computer is not saving them, the battery is definitely dead. Good luck.

  • can you help me please

im having a problem with my dell vostro 230 mini tower , the rear case fan is not spinning and the pc is not booting , do you think resetting the cmos can help fix the problem

  • @ezioauditore392 Your power supply is dead. Just replace it and you should be fine.

  • i have a clear cmos button do i just press it

  • @thetechzonelive My computer is still saving the settings for date & time - BUT ONLY UNTIL I TURN MY PC OFF. The next time I boot up, it will prompt me to press F1 again & enter date & time. I may have to follow your video tutorial in the future to see if it will reset my CMOS. Thank you for replying. (2/9/12)

  • @wuppas MB?

  • for some reason, I doubted that ancient board even had a CMOS jumper. you had to remove the battery to clear the bios in the ISA days.
