Every now and then, I switch vehicles from my favorites because I feel that my ability to steer others would slip. Here, I use bikes during the race--though not the usual suspects, of course. In particular, I feel that I want to remain used to inward drifting. To get used to bikes on manual, I used the Standard Bike M for the first race you see here; I think used the Quacker in the second race. The Quacker is among the least-seen vehicles in this game's online races. It's a big shame because it's so quirky.
Race #1 Bowser's Castle The highlight of the races in this room was this one because I kept getting hit with Blue Shells. I highly doubt it was someone hacking them, though i felt kind of suspicious that I was the only one getting hit by them until a later race in Rainbow Road. The first two were bothersome, but I didn't mind them so much as I didn't lose my lead. The third one, however, was just frustrating. I hoped the Mushroom I got could take me over the jump--though I'd actually forgotten that you could dodge a Blue Shell strike with precise timing using a Mushroom.
Race #2 Wario's Gold Mine The Quacker's kind of hard to use. It took me a bit of time to get used to its drifting scheme. It's also not very fast and is one of the lightest vehicles. I maintained the lead for the first two laps, but Luigi in the Sprinter knocked poor Baby Mario off the course, and I couldn't catch back up.
Battle #1 Coin Runners N64 Skyscraper One thing I discovered in this match is that a Mega Mushroom can cancel out a Blue Shell explosion. I activated it in the nick of time and managed to safely avert the blast. However, the other team must've gotten pretty mad or something, as I got hit a lot towards the end.
