TREASURE worked on Silpheed as well. I agree it isn't as exciting as it ought to be, but I just like it anyway. Not every shooter has to be frantic to be fun in my opinion, but silpheed was definately lacking something more to make up for the void spots. TREASURE made that Sin and Punishment game, it's really good. After beating it on Hard mode my hands were shaking.

@stringanime Interesting about Silpheed. Yeah, S&P games are really nice, the Wii sequel is pretty breathtaking and you did a good job beating it / the CG original.

Hmm.. I thought I had all the PAL shmups, didn't know Dragon Blaze was released over here will have to grab a copy! Just set the PS2 up (its been a while) - it really is a beauty of a system for shmups. Taito legends are great little collections - those Darius games with the pervy mermaid vibe and Raystorm/Layer Section etc. awesome.

@futurematt5 I bought the First Sin and Punishment also. I beat it on the Hardest mode, but I couldn't ever beat it in Speed mode. That is a mode where you can play on any difficultly and it is Sped up X2 and you can set it even to Skip Frames. I made it to the Last Boss, THE NEW EARTH, and it was just too Hard and Frustrating. I heard Treasure is working on a top secret 3DS game, but I have no idea what it's gonna be.

@Faginrs500 Doh! I missed a few apparently (Tengai, Homura, Strikers 1945 1&2, Gunbird Special, Sengoku Ace). Anyway I hardly did the gameplay much justice, 20 seconds from the first level doesn't cut it!! I wish I could have done more on R Type Final , it's such a brilliant shooter. Look forward to your next vid mate!

Too right about 480i, scanlines do look lovely on a CRT monitor.
