Marcus loved alex a lot but was crazy( in a good way)Pierre was the nice guy(thats it) . alex would not of ever been happy with Pierre. marcus's love is what made her happy! she said it herself "he can be the sweetest guy ever and the not sooo sweetest!what I think the persone who wrote the script wanted to point out is that things happen no matter what!
