  • I am Scandinavian, and thus, could not listen to his radio show. I did, however, read many of his books. Studs Terkel represented all that was good abouth the US - especially when compared to some of the pundits and talk-show hosts of today.

He treated his readers, listeners and interview subjects with respect.

    A truly remarkable journalist.

  • Haha your screenname reflects on your occupation quite nicely

  • Sir Pulitzer, Rest In Peace.

From Mr Uko, author of "Hot Trials."

  • RIP Studs we'll miss ya.

  • RIP Studs. A great unapologetic liberal who kept the torch burning for many decades.

  • Studs quote:

With optimism, you look upon the sunny side of things. People say, 'Studs, you're an optimist.' I never said I was an optimist. I have hope because what's the alternative to hope? Despair? If you have despair, you might as well put your head in the oven.

  • He represented all that is good, decent and honorable about America.

It's a shame that there seem to be so few such Americans today.

  • Well said, Victor.

  • I know now that when it is my turn to go, I will have some great company!
