    Bascule is just a style of drawbridge. It's even referred to at the Chicago Style of bridge.

  • They do, but they must not have had to raise both sides for the boat to clear. They are called bascule bridges too, not draw dridges.

  • I thought that the draw bridges in Chicago have two sides that go up/down.
