This is a fascinating documentary, but is there any way to fix the audio/video sync? Thank you for posting this.

NASA and all the other fuck-sticks in Thiokol should shot. It doesn't take a damn genius to understand what the problem is. They had better glad I hadn't been on the Rogers Commission. I would have made sure those guys would haven't been able to get a job with working in a McDonalds drive-thru. I would have paid people to follow them around for the rest of their lives.

I watched this live as a kid. I have never forgotten that imagine in my head over 20 years later.

I could just imagine Peter Falk as Columbo in this scene.

@LordEnder88 I like it when people wage war like that. I brings out the reality of the whole "accident." When you fuck up like this, you need to have ass chewed out in front of the genersl public. To put it simply, you do something your mom tells you not to do, you are going to get your ass beaten in front of everybody. I have this attitude toward my own mother. You cause a problem with me, expect fallout!!!!!

what the hell is with the Feynman accent. I think they try to make him sound more 'ivy league' or something. he was from queens.

Yeah, government was the problem. Stupid government engineers and other state employees -- who had no incentive to care for this tax payer funded project -- screwed it up.
I hate how they try to make Richard Feynman look like a dick (even though he was often called Dick). He was just pointing out in a simple fashion what the engineers already knew that the material used for the o-ring would not retain it's properties as temperatures near zero.

Its like with Columbia, NASA knew there was a problem with the tile. But after a trillion flights nothing had happened. Until finally their luck ran out. The O-rings problem was known of, but the shuttle always made it back in one piece. Its like when the engine light comes on and someone tells you the car will break down anytime even though you've driven it for 3 years and nothing happened. You stop believing them after a while until you break down in the middle of the crowded high way.
