@kcchiefsbaby "you gays are the ones stirring up issues"

After we get our equality, there won't be anything more to stir up.

So vote in our favour. No harm will be done if gay marriage becomes legal. It hasn't in the ~10 years it's been legal in other states and countries on Earth.

Two of the young men were never put back into their fathers home and became wards of the state. Because their fathers partner became very volatile in the home after a case worker informed him that the family court judge's injunction disallowed him to be in the home during the supervised visits of the children. The father said his partner doesn't have to go anywhere and refused to adhere to the judges orders. The father chose his lifestyle over his own sons.

"the father chose his lifestyle over his own sons."

No he chose the person he LOVES over his sons.

That happens all the time in straight families too.

How tragic that bigotry and prejudice tore apart the family. Because there's nothing wrong or abnormal about having gay parents, and it's really sad that those boys were taught that there was. There should be no reason why a gay dad shouldn't have joint or full custody. Too bad that society's bigotry didn't make that possible.

You ask I will tell you what the Psychiatrist Diagnosed for several of the young men I were a house parent for. She said that each boy she spoke with felt extreme pressure from there gay parents to accept there lifestyle as a normal situation. Some of the boys expressed being very uncomfortable around the person that was brought into there home. The Dr.s final report stated that she would not advised the state put any of the boys back this situation until further evaluations could be done.

@thejewel66 "You ask I will tell you what the Psychiatrist Diagnosed for several of the young men I were a house parent for."

It's WAAAAAAAAAY too easy for people to make up random stories on the internet to support their beliefs.

Do you have a link or news article as proof?

I doubt it.

@thecommercialedge I know the comments I have made to some sound made up and I would love to give names to prove a point. But since the law in most states disallows complete access to juvenile records after a person has reached the legal age their records are sealed. So I am sorry I can't offer you proof of my comment. But I will say this I thank God that I was able to able to be a father figure to those young men. And only one of the young men thanked me for helping him. That meant a lot.

Ego-boosting as well. How appropriate.

The last thing I need is for someone to stroke my ego. That is the kind of stuff that people with a low self esteem crave. And I assure you my self esteem is fine. I made that comment because I came from a single parent home. I know whats its like to have a father leave his wife and 5 children for another woman. And you are left feeling like it was your fault as a child that your dad left. So I thank God I was able to help those boys.

I thank god that the people are continually recognizing that same-sex couples deserve the same benefits as married couples.

I also thank god that the government of California, despite prop 8, still hold true to the recognition of married same-sex partners...

..because it's not JUST about the children. It's also about the well-being of the GLBT people living in society and paying taxes to the government in order to have rights and benefits as being citizens of the state/country.
