This is the second video in the series demonstrating the preparation of the clamps we will be using to fit strain gauges to the Bloodhound SSC load cells.

In this video I'm trimming high temperature rubber sheets to custom fit the strain gauge areas on the Bloodhound SSC load cells. The strain gauge areas will be packed tightly with the rubber and then clamped using aluminum strips and various spring clamps in an even pattern.

We take great care in making sure the strain gauges we bond to any surface are clamped with even pressure this insures the strain gauges are tightly bonded to the surface and prevents drift.

  • interesting, love the video. A good demonstration on how to clamp strain-gauges with high temperature rubber sheets.
