Mack Trucks Hood Ornament Cigar Ashtray Chrome Garage Sale Find 18 Wheeler Company

I found this Mack Cigar Ashtray at a garage sale and am not sure if I should sell it as the ashtray or if I should just sell the hood ornament because the chrome is so pitted.

Hey katie,I just saw this hood ornament on a really rare 56 truck on the great Barrett Jackson car auction on tv.This auction has cars that can hit millons when sold.You might have a dimond there to (that guy).Just had to tell ya.

A quick search of both Mack Ashtrays vs Bulldog under completed shows large bias toward the mascot alone. I've a Bulldog myself (with the chrome base) and while yours is a bit different than mine, I believe it's because yours is older. Mine is from an early eighties Mack your may never have been on a truck, but as far as I can tell the stance and mounting is the same. Your Bulldog may be from the 50's or sixties... In any case I'd say dish the tray polish the dog and starting bid it at $75

would any resellers buy good condition youth figure skates or ccm hockey skates for 4$ at a thrift store and sell them on ebay

you could find a chrome ashtray and drill a hole in it and remount the doggie on it.That is sweet I havent seen anything like that before.I know there are truckers out there that customize their trucks like people do cars most would be seen on the west coast or down south but they are diehard and that would be a great item for them.Good luck

Try a high BIN first then if that doesn't sell and get it re chromed. Hope it goes well. EP

...or sell it as a door-stop or paper-weight...or if you stick a hinge on the back you could use it/ sell it as a door knocker,lol if i think of any other brilliant ideas ill let you know ha ha :)

Huummm lets see... well if you can get it re-chromed cheap or just sell it as it is cleaned up might be easyest,its a heavy object by the looks of it and postage cost may be enough to put even the wealthiest cigar smoking banskster off buying it,i dont know much about them but i do know that if you want to gold or silver plate it will cost you a bit to cover that and more because if its condition..and then you gotta get rid of it.See how much its worth in scrap lol woop woop for the new audio.:)
