Chrome OS running from USB on Acer One

Dont waste your time running Chrome Os via parallels or vritualbox, it kills the real purpose of chrome os.

you just need:

1- a 4 or 8 GB usb memory card
2- Free program called Image Writer for Windowsand
3- a Chromium OS USB Image (go to the pirate bay and do a search)
4- a computer that can boot from USB

Donwload the Chromium OS USB Image just 300 megs, and you will get a 3 GB .img file
run Image writer and select the image (Chromiumos.img), select the USB drive letter where you
will install the OS, then push the "write" button, once is done, you just need to put your usb in the computer you want to test and boot from USB normally you need to push F12 key to boot from USB
default username: facepunch password: facepunch, if everything goes fine it will load in just 10 seconds or less depending on the speed of your USB memory

Hi, is it also possible to burn the chrome os image to CD so it can boot on a conventional desktop pc? We've just bought a cheap desktop unit to hook up to the TV for youtube etc, but would be good to have a fast booting operating system simply for this use.

Yes in fact the official chrome is a .iso file that must be Burned in a CD so you can install it in your PC, it will run even faster if is installed in your Hard drive, BUT if you dont know how to multiboot, you could delete your previously installed OS

Hey i have google chrome os on usb which boots but i have a problem when i boot it form my dell laptop the chrome os log on screen comes but when i type my username and password error comes that no network found. please can you tell me how to get internet connection while booting form a usb. i am using a adsl conection. plz respond!!!!!!! message me plz!!!!

you cant enter your network because your wifi probably is password protected, this google chrome can enter with an already saved user name and password

how much hard drive will the virtual OS have if your using on a thumb drive or will it just use the acer's hard drive??

So i heard it is possible to install the Os to your hard drive after running it off your usb. If i don't want to lose windows, can i partition my hard drive. and install it on the new partition?

Don't even waste your time downloading this and installing it. It's bullshit. I'd rather have more than a fucking browser for an OS. It's a failure. Good job though, installing CHROMIUM OS, rather than Chrome, because Chrome is a botnet.
